In this course, I learned the fundamentals of camera use and the application of photography in journalism and other communication tactics. I gained knowledge of Canon and Photoshop. These are just a few photographs from my class assignments.
College Kids Hit the Beach
Feature story
I chose to leverage my time on a fall break retreat and capture the many activities that college students enjoy while at the beach. This photo became my favorite for a feature story because it encompasses an eventful day at the beach and can be applicable for many articles.

While learning the fundamentals of camera use, I captured many different types of lighting, motion and distance shots. This photograph was meant to lead the viewer's eye up and across while remaining in focus throughout.
Life on the Farm
Photo Essay
My final project was a photo essay in which I chose to depict different farm animals. This was an important topic to me because it shows the life I've grown up in and shows the beauty of farm life that is often overlooked.
